Daily reflections and alms giving benefits St. Vincent De Paul Society.

We invite you and your family during this Lenten season as we pray the Stations of the Cross. Please join us on Fridays at 6pm in the Church for Stations of the Cross and Benediction.
Be fed by the word of God and then gather afterwards in the Parish Hall for fellowship and a meatless Lenten soup meal.
For more info, please pick up a Soup-n-Stations flyer at the Lent table or call the Parish Office at 242-3462.

St. Charles will lead a prayer vigil on Friday, March 17th. Join us this Lenten season for 40 days of prayer and fasting to end to abortion.  During Lent, from March 1st to April 9th, please join fellow Christians daily, standing peacefully in prayer outside of Planned Parenthood at 701 San Mateo NE, any time between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.  Together, in unity, we CAN make a difference!

Pope Francis says, “In imitation of our Master, we Christians are called to confront the poverty of our brothers and sisters, to touch it, to make it our own and to take practical steps to alleviate it.”
A big part of our Lenten equation is alms giving. This Lent, join us in our efforts to collect food to feed the needy in our city. St. Charles is collecting nonperishable items for the 40 Cans for Lent food drive to “Feed the hungry.” Pick up a flyer listing especially needed items on our Parish Lent table. Donations benefit Catholic Charities of New Mexico, helping those most in need. Please bring your canned goods to church.  Collection boxes have been placed on a cart in the Parish Lobby next to the Parish Volunteer Table. Thank you for your support and generosity!

The Lenten season is a time for Prayer, Fasting, Giving, and Repentance. What are you doing this Lent?
In the Words of Pope Francis this Lent: Fast from hurting words and say Kind words. Fast from sadness and be filled with Gratitude. Fast from anger and be filled with Patience. Fast from pessimism and be filled with Hope. Fast from worries and be filled with Trust in God. Fast from complaints and contemplate Simplicity. Fast from pressure and be Prayerful. Fast from bitterness and fill your hearts with Joy. Fast from selfishness and be Compassionate to others. Fast from grudges and be Reconciled. Fast from words and be silent so you can Listen.
“So, if we're going to fast from anything this Lent, Pope Francis suggests that even more than candy or alcohol, we fast from indifference towards others.” ~ Christopher J. Hale: Pope Francis' Guide to Lent: What You Should Give Up This Year

Next weekend, April 1st and 2nd, we wrap up our Love Loaves and 40 Cans for Lent programs.  Please be sure to bring in your Love Loaves and canned goods/non-perishable items.  Thank you for your support and generosity! Together we can make a difference in the lives of those in need.

The Catholic Schools Office (CSO) is embarking on a new strategic plan for the schools in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe.  Over the next few months, the CSO will gather information from the many stakeholders across our Archdiocese in order to plan for the future.  Info will be gathered through pastor, parishioner, and Catholic school parent surveys, as well as through individual interviews and focus group meetings.  This project is being conducted with the support and guidance of Archbishop Wester.
